# Magnus Box

> Magnus Box is a white-label cloud backup platform built exclusively for MSPs (managed service providers). It was founded by Mike Slodowski, who has run an MSP since 2010. Magnus Box is channel-only: it is never sold to end clients, so it never competes with the MSPs who resell it.

Magnus Box is built for the restore, the moment that actually matters for an MSP: backups that actually finish, fast restores when a client is down, simple transparent pricing, and real human support. MSPs resell it under their own brand. It protects servers, workstations, Microsoft 365, VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, disk image, and databases from one white-labeled console.

## Key facts
- Built by an MSP: founder Mike Slodowski has run an MSP since 2010; Magnus Box launched in 2018. Bootstrapped, founder-run, no outside investors.
- Channel-only / white-label: sold only to MSPs, never to the public. MSPs resell under their own brand and keep the client relationship and margin.
- Pricing (MSP wholesale): $7 per workstation per month (includes 1 TB of pooled storage) and $17 per server per month (includes 3 TB of pooled storage), for files-and-folders backup. Extra storage beyond the pool is $8 per TB. Add-ons are priced per unit: Disk Image, Microsoft 365, VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, and Managed Backup ($3 per device). A $45/month partner account includes white-label branding, support, and the first 3 licenses free. Month to month, no contract or partner agreement.
- Pooled storage: each workstation license adds 1 TB and each server license adds 3 TB to one pool shared by all of an MSP's clients, so a busy server uses headroom from quiet laptops.
- Security and data location: immutable, ransomware-resistant backups; AES-256 encryption in transit and at rest; data stored in Canada, the United States, or the European Union; cloud, local, or hybrid backup.
- Deployment: push the agent to an entire fleet via any RMM (ConnectWise, NinjaOne, Datto RMM, Kaseya, Atera, Syncro, N-able) with a single script.
- Migration: do it yourself or hand it to the Magnus Box team (white-glove). Old backups keep running until the new ones are verified, so there is no downtime.
- Managed Backup (add-on service): the Magnus Box team monitors every backup job daily, investigates and re-runs failures, remediates what it can, and escalates only what needs the MSP. $3 per device per month add-on, enabled per client. The MSP keeps the client relationship, billing, and brand.
- Support: real people who have run an MSP, by phone, chat, and email, 9am to 9pm Eastern (ET).
